Special Stocks and Inks for your Custom Business Stationery

The stock you select to for your custom business stationery can have a big effect. Fabulous heavy stocks with off-white colours and magnificent touch give an unmistakable feeling of substance and quality for your business. These types of stocks are most often used for high value, conservative businesses and professions. Combine those rich papers with blind embossing or metallic foil and it creates an ambience of tradition, trust and exclusiveness. Crisp white stocks are a timeless choice for conveying a clean, modern image. Bright white stocks project colours brightly and clearly. Metallic and iridescent stocks can be used to create an unusual look. Laid stock (with subtle stripes in the paper itself) gives an upmarket, personal feel. You can also select eco friendly papers.

Full colour printing is always a great favourite, and spot colours are great for brilliance and clarity. Pantone or spot colours offer clear, beautiful greens, blues, oranges and purples - colours that often lose some brilliance in 4-colour printing. Spot colours also allow you to use eye-popping fluoros, metallics and the most delicate of pastels for your business stationery. You can also combine spot colours with normal full colour printing.

Varnishes and Coatings add touch and surface quality to your Business Stationery

Varnishes can be used to protect a printed surface, or to add emphasis to an element in the design of your business stationery. Machine varnishes offer subtle gloss and matt effects, but if you want real touch lustre and dimension, celloglazing or spot UV varnish is what you need. Coatings can also be applied which make your business card feel like peach fuzz, or rubber, or sand. There's all kinds of interesting effects available. You can also apply foils in all manner of colours and metallic finishes - copper, gold, gunmetal, galvanised iron, chrome... imagine your business stationery looking so spectacular!

A popular and inexpensive option for business cards is Thermographay. This is also known as raised printing. It is applied over the top of the printed area and makes it raised and glossy.

We can diecut your business cards to special shapes and we can fold them as required. You may require rounded corners, or cutouts or special shaping for your business cards and stationery. You can also have folded or perforated cards.

Embossing is a popular effect for custom business stationery. Blind embossing raises the image where there is no print applied. This is a stylish, restrained effect. Embossing is most often used to emphasize a printed logo on a business card.

Print Finishing

We offer these finishing options:

Partial UV varnishing

Those who want to attract more attention with their printed products can use finishing techniques to create highly brilliant colour effects, such as the glamorous effect of partial UV varnishing. The coating will be applied in part and afterwards cured with UV light. To obtain varying Optic and haptic impressions after processing, UV varnishes can be mixed with various effect pigments or colours.

Relief varnish

Another brilliant effect is the partial relief varnishing or Spot varnishing. Three-dimensional varnishes make it possible to create completely different effects -that can be visually and haptically felt. We enhance the surface of the paper with a special UV varnish. Like normal UV varnish, the relief varnish is generally suitable for glossy or matt effects and can also be applied in different colours by adding colour pigments.

Hot foil finishing

Hot foil finishing is a high-quality finishing process. We can achieve glossy impressions on various printed products with high-gloss metallic foils or special effect foils in gold, silver and copper.

Matt Laminate

Our most popular laminate. With a smooth finish which reduces glare, it looks especially eye-catching with lighter backgrounds and colours. Matt Laminate is a durable finish.

Gloss Laminate

Producing a high shine finish. Gloss laminate helps bring out vibrant colours and works particularly well on darker backgrounds. Our most durable option, Gloss Laminate is exceptionally low marking.

Velvet Laminate

Velvet Laminate has an ultra soft velvety finish which reduces glare. It is particular striking on lighter backgrounds and colours. Our most premium finish, velvet laminate can be prone to light marking.

Embossing

Embossing alters the surface of the paper by providing a three dimensional or raised effect on selected areas. Generally, embossing is the process most often employed  to creatively attract attention or convey a high quality contrast to the surrounding area of the paper stock.

"Debossing" is similar to embossing, but recesses the design rather than raising it. Rather than the paper being raised in specific areas, it is indented.

Embossing is basically used to create a distinctive effect - embossing makes something stand out from the page. It impresses an image or text into a surface using an engraved metal die and this is what creates a raised impression.

Thermography

Thermography is the process of using thermographic resin powder and heat to give each project it's distinct, raised text. On the face of it, the finished product with the process looks similar to traditional embossing, with subtle, raised letters providing a textured finish

Our letterheads can be printed one or two sides on a range of standard, premium or environmentally-friendly paper stocks.
